The Things 06:33

about

Marbert Rocel is like painting tattoos with water colors and playing jazz from both sides of the carrera race track while searching sounds with a touch of old super 8 movies.

You will start thumping with your eyelashes until you see your whole body turning into a non-stop wet wet wriggling - waterfall-esque armpits inclusive!

After their great debut album "Beats Like Birds" the duo - consisting of Marbert AND Rocel - is back with "The Pack Remix EP" including "Beats Like Birds" Trus'me Vocal Mix, the brand new track "The Things" and the "The Pack" Part Time Heroes 'Flat Pack Mix.

The Part Time Heroes are two undisclosed young musicians currently residing in the leafy suburbs of Southampton. Although their names are not known to the masses, their music soon will be - be aware of their album "Meanwhile"!

They've managed to remix the likes of Wallis Bird (Island/Universal) Monday Michiru (ArtistShare) Citizen Cope (Wah Wah), Fried (RCA), Jamie Finlay (Wah Wah), Baker Brothers, Up Hygh (Tru Thoughts), MJ Cole (Prolific) and Instrumental (Big Chill Recordings). The Double award won the BBC Jazz Artist of The Year 2005.
Current fans and supporters of Part Time Heroes include Gilles Peterson, Zane Lowe, Benji B, Mr. Scruff, Ras Kwame (1Xtra), Nightmares On Wax, The Unabomber's, Patrick Forge, Michael Stukes (NYC), Michael Ruetten (Compost).

Hailing from Manchester in the north of England, Trus'me grew up surrounded by the city's rich musical heritage. Northern Soul, Punk, New-Wave, Indie, House - Manchester was at the front of it all. His love for music started at an early age where he dabbled with various instruments before studying production. Like many music lovers, he was soon bitten by the vinyl bug and his focus shifted towards DJ'ing and digging for unique samples. As a DJ he plays with diversity, a style that comes across in his production work.

2008 is going to be a busy year for Trus'me. As his Prime Numbers imprint launches in collaboration with Fat City Recordings, providing an outlet for Trus'me and other likeminded artists. The labels first release featured Linkwood (who's also releasing an album in 2008), Napihedz and Reggie Dokes. The second 12" shows off more Linkwood and a Trus'me remix of Clyde. Trusme's second album will be released later this year featuring guest appearances from Amp Fiddler and Paul Randolph. He's also produced an exclusive track for Giles Peterson's "In The House" compilation on Defected, as well as working on various remix projects including LCD Soundsystem.

Marbert Rocel Leipzig, Germany

Within the Marbert Rocel Studio, a charming togetherness of alleged contrasts evolved, ranging from songs that suddenly become secret weapons on house music dance floors to tracks that transfer peak time vibes to your living room sofa. Marbert Rocel literally dances across hermeneutic genre barriers by employing organic and electronic sounds equally. ... more
